The AI Brand Voice (Brooklyn Haberdashery)
This project showcases 'cloning' a founder's unique, authentic voice to solve their personal content bottleneck.
The Problem (Why I Built This)
I worked with the founder of Brooklyn Haberdashery, a brand where she was the entire product. Her unique, specific voice was the brand.
And she was drowning.
She was a total bottleneck, unable to keep up with the demand for marketing content (emails, social posts, etc.). She knew she needed help, but she was terrified—rightfully so—that hiring a freelancer or using generic AI would kill the "magic" of her brand's voice.
I wanted to investigate: could I truly copy her unique style and build an AI that sounded just like her?
The Strategic Solution
My "Aha!" moment came after a few failed attempts. I realized that just "dumping" a bunch of her old emails into an AI didn't work. The AI didn't understand why she wrote the way she did.
The solution was a two-part "principles + examples" framework.
- First, the Principles: I had to describe her voice like a human would. I worked with her to build a "context document" that outlined the rules of her voice—the general principles, the 'why' behind her word choices.
- Then, the Examples: After we had the principles, I fed the AI curated, high-performing examples. I scraped all her Facebook posts via the API and hand-picked her best-performing emails.
This combination was the key. The principles gave the AI the "why," and the examples gave it the "how."
After just two iterations with her, we had it. The custom GPT was able to generate content that she said was 95% perfect. The other 5% was just minor cleanup.
Capability Showcase
This project wasn't about a massive app; it was about a deep, surgical, and effective solution to a high-stakes "boring problem."
- The "Principles + Examples" Framework: This is the key insight. I proved a method for actually capturing a unique human voice, one that combines descriptive rules with curated examples.
- Intelligent Data Curation & Formatting: I didn't just dump all her data. I curated it, pulling only high-performing emails. I also formatted the data in a "Question & Answer" style, which taught the AI to differentiate between various types of content, like a holiday email vs. a standard newsletter.
- API Data Sourcing: I used the Facebook API to systematically pull her entire post history, building a rich, reliable dataset of her authentic voice from multiple sources.
- A 95% "Autopilot" for a Founder: The result was a tool that solved her entire bottleneck. It gave her the ability to generate 95% of her marketing content, instantly, in her own perfect voice.
What This Means For Your Business
This project is the blueprint for scaling your most valuable and "un-scalable" asset: your internal expertise.
Every company has a "founder" voice. It might be your CEO, your top salesperson, or your lead engineer. Right now, that person is a bottleneck.
The same "Principles + Examples" system I built can solve this for you:
- The "CEO-in-a-Box": Let's "clone" your CEO's unique voice. We can build an AI that allows your marketing team to draft internal announcements, blog posts, or social content that actually sounds like your leader.
- Scaling Your Top Salesperson: We can take your #1 salesperson's "magic" and build an AI sales assistant for your entire team. It can draft follow-up emails and proposals that use their proven, high-performing language.
- Authentic Customer Support: Build an AI support agent that's trained on your best support rep's replies, ensuring your automated answers are empathetic, helpful, and 100% on-brand.
